Favourite Things, Part Deux

Since we’ve moved here, the stature of Achilles in Hyde Park has ALWAYS been one of my favourites. Not sure why… Maybe it’s because it’s made of made from metal from a captured French cannon, or maybe it’s because the fig leaf has twice been chipped off by vandals.

Or maybeeeeee... it was because I was questioned by two Metropolitan Police officers after I took the following photo.

The weather outside...

tomorrow is "supposed" to be frightful with predictions of substantial snow. So with that... I'd better use up the last of my photos from the LAST snow. (just in case)

Favourite Things...

Noooo.... I'm not going to sing from Sound of Music (although I can).

Sometimes there are no explanations as to why you like certain things. Maybe there's a story behind it, maybe it's a nice memory, but sometimes certain images stick with with you. I have several, and this is one of them.

I never promised you...

a rose garden. These are some of the first images I took. Unfortunately, not many roses in the Rose Garden in September.

Fall Colours

As a native of the upper Gulf Coast area of Texas, seasonal changes and the resulting colours are new experiences for me. These are just a few of several taken throught the autumn season. More to follow.

The All Seeing Eye

The London Eye is the world's tallest observation wheel at 135m high (That’s 443 ft. in case you were wondering). It’s located on the banks of the Thames almost next door to Amy’s office in Shell Centre.

Disclaimer: There is no subliminal suggestion with this and the subsequent post whatsoever. Any inclination as such is strictly coincidental and not Freudian in the least bit. If I REALLY wanted to be suggestive I would have made references to the Sussex villages of Cocking and Lickfold.

(Go ahead... I dare you to look them up)

Is that a skyscraper in your pocket?

or are you just glad to see me?

Ah… “The Gherkin”, home of Swiss Re, a financial service group that just so happens to be the worlds largest reinsurer has also been referred to as the "Towering Innuendo". I’m sure it wasn’t hard to miss the erection of this building back in the early 2000’s as it now stands tall, dominating the London skyline.

Phallic?? Nooooo… not at all.
